Dieser Schritt war notwendig, da sich in den letzten Jahren die Nachfrage nach unseren Dienstleistungen stetig entwickelt hat. Die AGOR AG ist bereits in vielen europäischen Entitäten aus Deutschland heraus beratend tätig und sogar US-Unternehmen fragen uns um Rat, wenn es um den transatlantischen Datentransfer geht.
Wir sehen mit der Repräsentanz die Möglichkeit, unsere Kontakte zu pflegen und auch weiter auszubauen. Sascha, es ging jetzt alles doch sehr schnell. Wieso Wien, wieso jetzt?
Sascha Hesse:

Im Ernst: Wir beraten seit Jahren aus Deutschland heraus Unternehmen in Österreich und vor allem in Wien. Datenschutz und Datensicherheitsstrategien. Entitäten in globalen und europäischen Konzernstrukturen sind immer wieder und immer häufiger mit solchen Fragestellungen konfrontiert.
Wir wollen in allerster Linie unsere bestehenden Kontakte pflegen und gerne neue aufbauen. Mittelfristig ist auch nicht ausgeschlossen, dass wir festes Personal in Wien aufbauen. Dies wird die Zeit und die Entwicklung zeigen.
Annette Kilch:
Gibt es in Österreich grundsätzlich andere Themen?
Sascha Hesse:
Nein! Ob in Deutschland oder sonst in Europa: Mit unserem Bereich Academy coachen wir Compliance-Manager und Datenschutzverantwortliche und unterstützen den Vertrieb bei der rechtskonformen Umsetzung von CRM. Internal Investigations machen oft nicht an Landesgrenzen halt. Mit der Datenschutzgrundverordnung werden die Nationen, die bisher nicht ein so strenges Datenschutzrecht hatten wie Deutschland, verstärkt Wissen aufbauen müssen. Zudem:
ERP-Compliance gibt es -oh Wunder- nicht nur in Deutschland. Mit unseren Partnern beraten wir im Bereich Strategy IT-Sicherheit und schließlich führen wir Awareness-Schulungen durch. Social Engeneering und die daraus resultierenden Gefahren sind ja nicht nur in Deutschland aktuell.
Annette Kilch:
Kein Problem? Andere Gesetze, andere Kultur, andere Sprache?
Sascha Hesse:
Recht wird europäisch immer weiter harmonisiert, die anstehende Datenschutzgrundverordnung wird dies für den Bereich Datenschutz und Datensicherheit weiter vorantreiben. Aber auch jetzt ist -ob in Österreich, Spanien, Frankreich- alles doch sehr ähnlich. Das betrifft auch Verbraucherrechte und die damit einhergehenden Fragen des unlauteren Wettbewerbs und e-Commerce. Wir betreuen seit Jahren Unternehmen, die in so genannten Matrix-Strukturen organisiert sind.
Shared-Services sorgen für immer mehr Verknüpfungen und Synergien zwischen global organisierten Unternehmen. Für den Datenfluss bedeutet dass zum Beispiel, dass 6 Entitäten Customer-Daten zentral verwalten und einen einheitlichen Dienstleister einsetzen, z.B. für Marketingaktivitäten.
Da wird es tricky mit dem Datenschutz.
In den deutschsprachigen Ländern ist es eh kein Problem mit der Sprache, auch wenn die Rechts-und Behörden/Gerichtssprache zuweilen gewöhnungsbedürftig ist. Ansonsten setzt sich Englisch auch in der Beratung durch.
Und die Kultur!? Käsefondue, Tapas, Pasta oder Wiener Schnitzel! Kennen wir alles seit Jahren schon aus Frankfurt (lacht).
Annette Kilch:
Wie geht es weiter? Gibt es konkrete Pläne?
Sascha Hesse:
Wir werden im Frühjahr und Sommer ein, zwei Events (Afterwork Talk) o.ä. mit unseren österreichischen Partnern organisieren.
Ein Thema steht im Vordergrund: Die auch in Österreich ab 2018 geltende Datenschutzgrundverordnung der EU.
Wir wollen aufklären, Awareness schaffen und die Hand reichen. Wir beraten pragmatisch, äußerst dienstleistungsorientiert sowie mit Verve und das ist keine nationalstaatliche oder kulturelle Frage.
Wir freuen uns schlicht auf die anstehenden Aufgaben.
AGOR AG opens representative office in Vienna
From January 2016 on the AGOR AG will be represented in Vienna and thereby in Austria. This step was necessary, because the need for our services highly increased over the last couple of years.
The AGOR AG already operates in consulting matters out of many European entities from Germany and even US-Companies ask for advice, when it comes to the transatlantic transfer of data.
The representative office makes us actually foresee the possibility to care and to build up on our contacts.
As soon as we are able to establish a slot in Vienna, we will use office space just around the corner of the main train station, good traffic connections and its infrastructure is geared to the needs of the economy and also not far away from a connected consulting company.

Sascha, everything went so fast. Why Vienna and why at this moment?
Sascha Hesse:
Viennese Schnitzel and Heurigen! I am addicted to that! Further questions? (laughs)
No, seriously, we already give advice to Austrian companies, especially in Vienna and even for a couple of years, but still operating out of Germany. Data security and data protection strategies, that is the keyword.
Entities in global and European company structures have to face these kind of questions daily.
In the first place we want to maintain our consisting contacts and work on more.
A middle-term solution could be that we station out staff constantly in Vienna, but time and the development will show.
Annette Kilch:
Are there any basic differences between german and austrian topics concerning data matters?
Sascha Hesse:
No! It doesn’t matter if it is Germany or the rest of Europe: with our branche “Academy” we train compliance managers and data protection officers and support the distribution with the conformity of the law and CRM-Systems.
Internal investigations usually do not stop at a national border. Being aware of the upcoming data protection regulation, those states, that have not had a strict data protection law as Germany so far, have to gain tremendous knowledge. Furthermore: ERP-Compliance exists – what a surprise- not only in Germany. Together with our partners we consult on the field of Strategy IT-Security and implement so called awareness trainings. Social Engeneering and the possible dangers arising from that side is not only a German phenomenon.
Annette Kilch:
And this is not a problem at all, i mean a different legal system, different culture and language?
Sascha Hesse:
The big European influence will harmonize the legal system constantly, the upcoming data protection regulation will do its job for data protection and data security. But even today, no matter if it is Austria, Spain or France, everything is very similar. This affects the consumer rights and along with that questions of unfair competition and e-commerce. We supervise companies for some years, which are organized in so called Matrix-Structures.
Shared services lead to many links and synergetic effects between globally organized companies.
This means for example for the data flow, 6 entities manage customer data centrally and use the same service provider, for example for marketing issues. This is getting very tricky if you want to protect the data.
The german speaking countries are not a big problem for us, even though the language before court or public authorities takes a little to get to use to. Apart from that English dominates the consulting section.
And the culture? Cheese-Fondue, Tapas, Pasta or the Viennese Schnitzel…we already know that for years from Frankfurt (laughs).
Annette Kilch:
How do you continue? Any concrete plans?
Sascha Hesse:
Among side our Austrian partners we will organize maybe one or two events, an Afterwork-Talk or something like that.
A dominating role has the new EU-data protection regulation, which will be in force for Austria by 2018.
We want to clear up, create awareness and reach out our hands. We consult practically, very service orientated and even with esprit, and this is not a patriotic or cultural question.
We simply look forward to the upcoming tasks.
